Fender Frontman 15R is a solid state combo amplifier for electric guitars. It was designed as a small practice amp, allowing you to play anywhere without making the walls shake :) and still have a touch of the legendary Fender sound.
The 15-watt amp has the famous Blackface look (black covering, silver grille cloth, skirted knobs) and offers quite decent possibilities for customizing your sound. It has dual selectable channels (normal and drive), built-in reverb, auxiliary RCA input for CD, iPod or drum machine, headphone jack, EQ, volume, gain and drive controls.
I’ve owned one for a few years, when I was just starting out and studying a lot at home. I didn’t like the overdrive sound, it was too “muddy” (so I played through a Digitech Hot Head pedal – it seemed fine at the time :) ) – the built-in reverb did its work quite well, though.

If you’re thinking of acquiring it as your first amplifier (until you’ve developed your taste for a complex sound) or a custom amp to be taken anywhere (it’s lightweight: only 6.80 kg), then it’s absolutely the right model for that.
One the downside: Fender Frontman 15R is not by any means a gig amp and your sound may feel too “small” even for a band rehersal. If you’re a beginner and plan to get out and play at some point, it’s going to be necessary to invest in a performance amp.

I’ve been browsing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever… Saundra Bochenski

Hello, I think I was pretty specific about it being a practice amp, until until a player has developed his taste for a complex sound. It’s better than a 10W amp and it has the built-in reverb that makes the “muddy” sound easier to rehearse with. Is there a little beginners amp that handles sound at least as decently like Fender Frontman 15R does and I haven’t heard of it? Cheers.
the worst amplifier ever, I owned one and I can say it s awful and unusable.
