Musikmesse 2011

Musikmesse is one the premier league events for musicians and musical instrument manufacturers – simply put, it’s guitar & gear heaven all over again, with top of the line products and breathtaking innovations.

Musikmesse 2011

The Musikmesse International Fair for Musical Instruments, Sheet Music, Music Production and Music Business Connections 2011 will take place in Frankurt, Germany from April 6th to 9th.

This year’s exhibit features some long-awaited product releases, some revamped and really cool instrument series and, of course, unbelievable signature guitars. Plus, by attending the event you’ll have the chance to take part in workshops, exclusive concerts and discussions with some of today’s greatest musicians.

Schedule & admission: the exhibition can be visited by the public between 9 am and 6 pm every day. A one day ticket is 28 euro (15 euro for students), 7 euro for children and 32 euro for the entire family. You can also buy tickets online by clicking here.

Musikmesse 2011 highlights

I selected some of the guitaristic highlights of Musikmesse 2011 and I’m planning to update with tons of info about each product as soon as they become available:

Taylor 416ce – a limited edition acoustic-electric guitar to suit every professional musician’s dreams of sound at a more affordable price than the GS series. The tone is solid thanks to the African ovangkol wood and the satin texture and rich harmonics are not lost when the instrument is amplified due to the Expression System wiring.

Line 6 Variax – welcome to the next generation of versatile Line 6 guitars, with a sleeker design, same pickup configuration and modern tone, only a bit more accessible. Line 6 will be introducing a line of high-end custom shop designs for the Variax guitars, but also a series of Korean-made instruments at more accessible prices.

Orange Dark Terror Amp

Orange Dark Terror – Orange Amps just unveiled a new 15-Watt model set to rock the world of metal players… and not only! How huge can a 15-Watt combo sound? You’ll have to hear this baby at Musikmesse 2011 to find out exactly!

Orange OPC

Orange OPC – is it an amp? Is it a portable recording device? Actually, it’s an all-in-one PC designed especially for musicians that offers  playing, recording, editing and computing capabilities, with premium software pre-installed. The OPC works straight out of the box with no setting up necessary… just plug in, play, record and share! The new version of Orange OPC presented at Musikmesse 2011 is priced at £1,224 (around 2.000$) and can be pre-ordered only in the United Kingdom for now.
